Jack L. Phillips

	Jack L. Phillips, 67, of Elkville, passed away at 6:58 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2001 at the Memorial Hospital S.E. in Houston, Texas.
	Jack was a retired roof bolter at Freeman United #6 Coal Mine.  He had been an Elkville City Police officer for four years and had coached and managed Elkville Khoury league for 10 years.  He was a member of the UMWA Local 1591 and was a Protestant.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.
	He was born November 19, 1933 at Hallidayboro, the son of Robert and Marie (Halstead) Phillips.  He married Sandra K. Havens on July 2, 1966 at Elkville and she survives.
	He is survived by his wife of Elkville; four sons- David Harrison of Jackson, Tenn., Jan Phillips and wife Wanda of Pinckneyville, Kevin Harrison and wife Denise of DuQuoin, Donnie Harrison and wife Lala of Port Isabel, Tex.; one daughter- Cindy Deleon and husband Oridio of Port Isabel, Tex.; two brothers- Bob Phillips and wife Juanita of Anna, Paul Phillips and wife Rose of DuQuoin; sister-in-law- Alberta Phillips of DuQuoin; 16 grandchildren.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother- Edward Phillips.
	Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 17 at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin with Bro. Jerry Aken officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in DuQuoin.
	Interment was in Elkville Cemetery.
